The recently completed naval reserve at birkenhead includes a brand new playground, half court, shelters and reserve.

To alleviate flooding on the lower peninsula during heavy rainfall, alot of this project is hidden underground where a stormwater management system and pump station sit underneath the new playground and open space. The reserve acts as a detention basin to hold overflow water during heavy rain before it is released into the river.

The new planting spaces are being completed and planted out by members of the community as part of a community project.
