Westport Primary STEM | SA

The existing site at Westport was made up of the entire hardscape creating a space that children avoided. With a high number of remotely based children moving here from central Australia the space was totally foreign. The STEM works intended to open the buildings to the central space and create a space for outdoor learning.

The nature play space that has been installed has now created a number of outdoor classrooms, a functional creek line with crossings, turf mounds and an aviary for numerous birds and turtles. Children can be seen actively engaging with the space following leaves down the creek and playing with their peers jumping from rock to rock.
